How do you become a Direct Debit service user?
Before you start taking steps to introduce Direct Debit into your organisation, we recommend that you find out as much about the scheme as possible. Our payments experts are happy to answer your questions, or you could take one of our training courses to find out what's involved in becoming a service user.
If your organisation has decided to introduce Direct Debit, here's a quick overview of the steps you should take:
- Consult your bank
- Gain sponsorship from your bank – your bank will check your company's integrity, financial standing and administrative capability
- Listen to your bank's advice on how to access the service
- Familiarise yourself and your colleagues with the scheme rules
- Decide whether you want to submit payments directly to Bacs or through a bureau, such as Pay Direct™
Direct Debit Limited has a range of products and services that make it easier to collect by Direct Debit. We have more than 20 years' experience of helping new Direct Debit service users get the most out of the scheme.
